The public lecture entitled 'The World of the Palace Museum and the World’s Palace Museum' will be held on Thursday 27 September 2018 at 19:00 at the multi-functional Hall, 3rd Floor, China Cultural Centre, Valletta.
Dr Shan Jixiang will be delivering the lecture.
Dr Shan Jixiang is a research fellow. He graduated from the School of Architecture, Tsinghua University with a doctor’s degree in urban planning and design. He was appointed as Director General of the Statement Administration of Cultural Heritage in 2002, and became Director of the Palace Museum in 2012.
He was a member of the tenth, eleventh and twelfth National Committees of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and President of Cultural Relics Society of China. In September 2014, he was awarded the 'Forbes Prize' by the International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works.
His published works include more than twenty monographs such as Cultural Heritage: Thoughts and Practice, and over a hundred academic theses.
