Event: Representations of Catholicism in Malta Today: Listening to the Generations
Date: Thursday 21 July 2022
Time: 17:45 - 20:00
Venue: Old Refectory at the Curia, Floriana
On Thursday 21st July, a recently concluded qualitative study on the representations of Catholicism in Malta today will be presented by Dr Luke Buhagiar, until recently the Chief Research Officer of Discern, the Church’s Institute for the Signs of the Times. This study sheds important light on the Maltese cultural milieu, and illustrates how changes in the local representation of Catholicism both reflect and precipitate wider social changes.
The findings will be discussed by a panel moderated by Professor Edward Warrington, with panellists including the Archbishop’s Delegate for Evangelisation Professor Nadia Delicata, Professor Jean Paul de Lucca and Rev. Dr. Claude Attard.
The event, which will be held in the Old Refectory at the Curia in Floriana, will commence with refreshments at 17:45 and is expected to conclude by 20:00
