The Department of Gender Studies will be hosting a public lecture entitled 'Brexit - The Consequences for People, Politics, Policies & Gender'.
The public lecture will be held on Wednesday 10 April from 17:30 to 18:30 in Hall C Mikiel Anton Vassalli Conference Centre – Gateway Building (GWHC) - No 7 on campus map.
The speaker is Dr Mary C Murphy.
The UK departure from the EU has been mired in extraordinary difficulty since Prime Minister Theresa May
triggered Article 50 in March 2017. Negotiations have been challenging; relationships have been tested;
and ordinary citizens have been left bewildered. The fallout from Brexit is likely to produce some damaging
economic, political, social and constitutional consequences. This lecture explores how Brexit will impact on
people, policies, and political systems, and to what extent negative developments will be felt more acutely
by women.
The general public is cordially invited to attend this public lecture.
To register contact Ms Marica Galea on +356 2340 3956 or send an email.
