Women and higher education : In-nisa u l-edukazzjoni għolja
31 October - 29 November 2019
Valletta Campus - University of Malta
08:00 - 17:00 (weekdays)
The University of Malta presents an exhibition acknowledging women at the University since their first enrollments in the early 20th century.
The exhibition speaks about the first group of women who acquired a third-level education in Malta, juxtaposing their stories with work by contemporary female artists working in Malta. It highlights important milestones in the history of women's enrolments at UM, and reveals poignant statistics about gender disparities within the institution, as well as at a national level.
Alongside factual information, the exhibition displays photographs and information submitted by female students and alumni of the University, in response to an open call, which asked them to recount their experiences at UM.
