UM would like to invite all students and staff to participate in the following virtual run / walk event organised by the University of West Brittany (UBO) in Brest, France. Whilst we encourage all students and staff to participate please ensure that as participants you abide with the measures in place imposed by the Superintendent of Public Health in light of the current COVID situation.
Like the University of Malta, the University of West Brittany (UBO) is a member of the European University of the Seas, a 'European Universities' alliance.
The University of West Brittany (UBO) in Brest is also organising an online conference on sport on Thursday 15 April, 2021.
"La Solidaire de Brest" is an inclusive race. It is organised so that all persons of all abilities can run together. This race is organised by Bsc3 and M1 students in Management of Sports. It is a charity race: all benefits are donated to charity organisations working for a better inclusion of disabled people in our society.
The 2021 edition is planned as a one of the SEA-EU sport events. In a normal context, UBO would have hosted runners from SEA-EU universities, as the event was planned as the outcome of the intensive course about Sport Management and Sustainable Development.
The students organising team is working hard to maintain this sporting event despite the context and also to maintain a European dimension by involving students from SEA-EU universities. They therefore invite you to participate in the first remote edition of "La Solidaire". The objective is to constitute a team of runners/walkers in each SEA-EU university to take part in this amazing race.
For those wondering about sponsors, note that UBO has found a generous sponsor who will be donating funds per kilometre walked/run by each and every staff and student from the various participating universities.
