The Malta Chamber of Scientists, in collaboration with the University of Malta, invites you to an inspiring event in celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
This event brings together a diverse panel of speakers to discuss the challenges, aspirations, and opportunities for women in science, while promoting gender equality in STEM fields.
The event features two engaging panel discussions moderated by Liliana Francalanza:
- Panel 1: Experiences, Hopes, and Aspirations
Speakers from varying stages of their scientific journeys will share personal insights into their career paths, the obstacles they faced, and their hopes for the future of women in science.

- Panel 2: Encouraging Women and Girls in Science
A forward-looking discussion on strategies to inspire the next generation of women scientists and the support systems needed to ensure they thrive in their careers.
Speakers: Catherine Cutajar, Susannah Farrugia, Stephanie Buttigieg, Carmen Sammut
Among the distinguished speakers are researchers, educators, and experts from fields such as astrophysics, marine biology, forensics, and mathematics. The event will also feature a special video address by Rebecca Buttigieg, Parliamentary Secretary for Gender Equality, highlighting the government’s commitment to supporting women and girls in science.
