The Determinants of Wellbeing: Insights from Research and Implications for Malta
a conference jointly organised by
The President’s Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society
and the Department of Economics, University of Malta
Verdala Palace
Tuesday 20 October, 2015
Researchers and policy-makers throughout the world have grappled with the major question of how to chart the progress and welfare of societies. How should we measure human welfare and what are the key factors that determine it? How are these factors influenced by public policy? This half-day conference will discuss key findings on quantitative studies in economics, psychology and sociology of happiness, wellbeing, quality of life, life satisfaction and related concepts. Targeting policy-makers, voluntary organisations, politicians, academics, journalists and anyone with an interest in well-being, the conference will offer scope for discussion on the relevance and implications of these findings for Malta.
Places are on first come, first served basis. Registration is available online.
