The Valletta 2018 Foundation, as the body responsible for the implementation of the Valletta 2018 cultural programme, has set up an Evaluation & Monitoring Steering Committee to monitor and evaluate the process and impacts of Valletta as a European Capital of Culture. This Steering Committee is composed of a number of institutions and individual academics who are conducting research of a quantitative and qualitative nature. The process is coordinated and managed by the Research Unit within the Valletta 2018 Foundation.
The University of Malta Valletta 2018 Secretariat in collaboration with the Valletta 2018 Foundation will be organising a Works in Progress Seminar entitled 'Culture Matters: Valletta 2018 Initial Findings’. The seminar will be held on 25 February 2016 from 09:00 to 17:00 at the ICT Auditorium (UoM Msida Campus). The objective of this seminar is to disseminate the outcomes of the ‘evaluation and monitoring’ research for 2015.
The organisers will dedicate a slot for students who are pursuing research at postgraduate level to present their study during the second part of this seminar. The research topics should be connected to Valletta 2018 and related thematic areas. Abstracts should be send by Friday 5 February 2015 on glen.farrugia@um.edu.mt
