'Chizil - Fusion Trio' is an Evenings on Campus event that will be held on Thursday 4 August at 21:00 in Atriju Vassalli (Quadrangle), University of Malta, Msida Campus.
Chizil, formed in the summer of 2015, fuses a synthesis of old and new, boasting an eclectic array of sounds and influences. An unconventional, unorthodox, idiosyncratic blend of extremes that promises to exhibit a myriad of endless musical possibilities.
Jes Psaila on guitar is a household name in the local jazz scene who has graced the stage with many local as well as foreign artists. Jes brings bags of experience to the mix, together with a perpetual motivating thirst for self-renovation and rejuvenation.
Francesco Cikku Frendo on the electric bass has become a prominent figure in the local music scene. He has formed avant-garde musical projects with other local talents and is keen on pushing the traditional role of the low-end to its limits with a fresh approach of sounds and basslines.
William Smith on Drums is the youngest of the trio, and is establishing himself as one of Malta’s premium young talents. Will has his roots in extreme music delivering a unique cutting edge to the collaboration.
