The Department of Gender Studies , in collaboration with the Malta National Contact Point of the European Migration Network within the Ministry for Home Affairs and National Security, is holding the 9th Annual Conference on Tuesday 15 November 2016.
The conference aims to give an insight on the role of the media in migration and a gender perspective to integration.
Prof. Emerita Avtar Brah will speak on gendered migrations and the question in integration; Simona Lanzoni will speak on gender, violence and migration; Katarina Lennmarker on engagement; Andre Baas on integration; Martina Belmont on the labour market and protected persons; Dr Carmen Sammut on Media and Migration and Dr Mimi Doran on Media Literacy and Social Activism. There will be panel discussions and the sessions will be chaired by Dr JosAnn Cutajar (Session 1); Dr Marceline Naudi (Session 2) and Dr Brenda Murphy (Session 3).
The venue is the Palace Hotel, High Street Sliema, with registration starting at 08:30. Parking in the underground car park will be complimentary on a first come basis.
