Professor Francesco Frasca will be delivering an illustrated lecture on the late sixteenth-century city fortress of Palmanova in the Friuli Venezia Gulia region of. This lecture will be held on Thursday 27 April at 18:00 in the ‘Le Roi Soleil’ Resource Centre of the International Institute for Baroque Studies – Room 307, Faculty of the Built Environment Building, University of Malta Msida Campus.
This lecture which is being held under the auspices of the International Institute for Baroque Studies in conjunction with the Istituto Italiano di Cultura and the Italian Embassy, is open to the general public and will focus on the importance of the ideal city-fortress of Palmanova in the context of developments in military architecture in the early Baroque age. The lecture forms part of the outreach programme of the Institute.
