The Department of Theatre Studies is pleased to announce that theatre and film director Haris Pašović will be delivering lectures at the University of Malta on 6 and 7 December 2017.
Considered as one of the leading theatre directors in South East Europe, Professor Pašović has directed numerous performances and participated in many festivals worldwide. During the Siege of Sarajevo he was director of the International Theatre and Film Festival MES Sarajevo where he produced the legendary Waiting for Godot directed by Susan Sontag and directed various plays including Euripides’s Alcestis, Paul Auster’s In the Country of Last Things, and the performance Silk Drums based on Noh dramas. After the war he directed a number of performances at the Edinburgh International Festival, Avignon Festival, Singapore Arts Festival, National Arts Festival of South Africa, UK City of Culture, and Napoli Teatro Festival Italy. Professor Pašović is director of the East West Centre Sarajevo, teaches in several universities, and is active as playwright and essayist. He has addressed various conferences and events such as the Silk Road Forum at CSIAF, the Lincoln Global Initiative New York, and the St Petersburg Cultural Forum.

On Monday 4 December an interview by Dr Immanuel Mifsud with Professor Pašović will be held at Palazzo de La Salle in Valletta at 18:00.
