The Department of Dance Studies is proud to be hosting postgraduate companies Verve, from Northern School of Contemporary Dance, and Transitions Dance Company from Trinity Laban, London, for performances and workshops this May. This will be the second time the acclaimed postgraduate companies have performed at the University of Malta’s Valletta Campus Theatre.
Verve, the postgraduate company of Northern School of Contemporary Dance will present a programme of works by Hannes Langolf, Sita Ostheimer, and VERVE Artistic Director Matthew Robinson, and a reworking of Lenka Vagnerová & Company's critically acclaimed 'Riders'. Verve performance will take place at University of Malta’s Valletta Campus Theatre Tuesday 22 May at Valletta Campus Theatre, 20:00.
Transitions Dance Company returns to Malta with a brand new triple bill of specially commissioned works new works by choreographers Richard Chappell (UK), Jarkko Partanen (Finland) and Hagit Yakira (Israel). Pieces range from the poetically human and the humorous to the intricately technical and dynamic.
In what promises to be an engaging and enjoyable night out, fourteen superb international dancers at the start of their stellar careers perform this surprising, intriguing and eclectic programme. Transitions performance will take place at University of Malta’s Valletta Campus Theatre Sunday 27 May 2018 19:30.
In addition to the performance, the company will offer a workshop and on Friday 25 May from 16:30 to 19:30 at the Dance Studies' San Gwann studios. To book for the workshop, contact francesca.tranter@um.edu.mt.
