On Thursday 23 August, at 19:00, at Fort Manoel on Manoel Island in Gzira, the Department of Maltese, through its Diploma in Maltese Literature, will be running a special session for readers of Maltese and international literature at the Malta Mediterranean Literature Festival run by Inizjamed in collaboration with Arts Council Malta.
This event is free and open to the general public.
In this pre-Festival event, 'Il-Qarrejja Jaslu Qabel (l-Awturi)', students of the Diploma and all those who would like to intervene will be talking about their experience of reading works by the authors invited to this year's XIIIth edition of the Festival.
The guest authors are Juana Adcock (Mexico/UK), Clare Azzopardi (Malta), Massimo Barilla (Italy), | Aslı Erdoğan (Turkey), Jean-Rémy Gandon (France), Arjan Hut (Ljouwert, Netherlands), Laia López Manrique (Spain), Caldon Mercieca (Malta), Teodor Reljić (Malta), Philip Sciberras (Malta), Sjón (Iceland), and Ali Thareb (Bābil, Iraq). The three Festival nights are on Thursday 23, Friday 24 and Saturday 25 August and start at 20:00.
This event is being coordinated by Noel Tanti and other students who recently finished their Diploma in Maltese Literature.
