The Final Dissemination Conference of the project entitled 'Bystander Responses to Sexual Harassment among Young People', will be held on Monday 15 October at Dar Qalb ta’ Gesu, Sta Venera.
The project involved partners in Portugal, Slovenia, United Kingdom and Malta. Locally, the project was run in the Department of Gender Studies located within the Faculty for Social Wellbeing at the University of Malta.
The project consisted of research and the development of a training programme, which was implemented with young people in three schools in Malta (Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary, St Edwards 6th Form College, St Aloysius 6th Form College) in order to address the issue of sexual harassment and to support students in recognising and standing up to sexual harassment.
During the Conference, reflections from the work in schools in Portugal, Slovenia and Malta will be shared and the teachers and/or students involved in the programme in Malta will talk about the experience. The Conference will feature workshops where the role of bystanders in preventing sexual harassment in the school environment will be addressed.
The Conference is free however registration is required. To register send an email to Barbara Stelmaszek, Research Officer by 10 October 2018.
