Each year in November, The Edward de Bono Institute organises a programme of events to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) in Malta. GEW is held annually in over 160 countries, and aims at encouraging young people to engage in entrepreneurial activities.
This year's programme includes the following events that have been planned for University of Malta students. Attendance at all these events is free of charge, but registration at the following link is required by not later than Sunday 11 November for logistical purposes:
Steering your Start-Up to Success: A Panel Discussion on Tuesday 13 November, from 17:00 to 19:00, in Gateway Hall D1, University of Malta
This panel shall include speakers from different entrepreneurial backgrounds, including Simon Azzopardi (President - Silicon Valletta, and Founder - Sherpa Management Services Ltd.), Monique Chambers (Founder - Indulge Me; Freelance Marketing & PR Consultant), Joseph G. Cutajar (Managing Director - Mediterranean Insurance Brokers (MIB) Ltd.), Carolin Zeitler (Alchemist - The Impact Collective; Coach; Freelance Writer), who shall discuss what factors play a role in overcoming obstacles in entrepreneurship and steering startups to success.
Malta Enterprise Role and Activities on Wednesday 14 November, from 12:00 to 14:00, Malta Enterprise Head Office Gwardamangia
The aim of this event is to inform University of Malta students about the current operations of Malta Enterprise, its role and incentives to assist local businesses.
Visit to TAKEOFF Business Incubator on Thursday 22 November, from 14:00 to 16:00, Dar Guzeppi Zahra Room 108 and TakeOff Incubator, University of Malta
TAKEOFF is a technology business incubator based at the University of Malta, aimed at helping entrepreneurs create successful STEAM (science, technology, engineering, creative media and knowledge-based), start-ups. This visit shall include a presentation by the Incubator Manager Ing. Joseph Bartolo, and the Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Business Incubation Professor Russell Smith, on the support and incentives they offer to start-ups, followed by a discussion with a few of the incubatees.
