Abstract:
This research is the result of a European finances project on gender-based violence. It deals with the phenomenon of migrant women, victims of or potential victims of, gender-based violence both in their home country, during their travel and in the host countries. The testimonials of women that arrived in France, Germany, Italy, Malta, Spain and the UK show various forms of violence that do not necessarily stop once they reach Europe. The violence result from a mixture of cultural acceptance, trafficking of people and in some cases, an institutional form of violence, in the host countries.
