The Faculty of Laws, with the support of the European Commission Hercules Programme, is organising a day conference entitled ‘EU and National Criminal Law in Fraud, Corruption, and Blockchains: friends or foes?’ The Conference will be held on Monday 24 June at 09:00 at the University of Malta, Valletta Campus.
The topics that will be discussed include the relationship between EU and national criminal law, and the effects of EU integration on national criminal law. Particular emphasis will be made on crimes against the financial interests of the EU, as well as crime involving technology. This is an academic conference, and the speakers include distinguished academics, practitioners and judges from Malta and other EU Member States. A representative from the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) will also be delivering a presentation.
The conference is of interest to anyone involved in the field and in particular to practising lawyers, accountants, journalists and university students.
