The Faculty for Social Wellbeing, in collaboration with the Department of Criminology, is organising a public lecture in remembrance of Dr Jacqueline Azzopardi. Dr Azzopardi was Deputy Dean and Head, Department of Criminology at the Faculty for Social Wellbeing.
The lecture this year is entitled 'The Different Facets of Lombroso'. The event will be held on Wednesday 6 November 2019 at 12:00 in Gateway Hall B2, University of Malta, Msida Campus. The lecture will be delivered by Dr Trevor Calafato (Department of Criminology).
Cesare Lombroso, the father of criminology is mainly known for his theory of the born criminal. However, Lombroso, being a polyglot and a prolific writer researched, studied and published on a variety of topics. Notwithstanding, most of these aspects of Lombroso’s work still tend to be neglected and ignored by most researchers and academics.
