The Juvenes Translatores Award Ceremony was held on Friday 1 April 2022, in the Alcide de Gasperri Conference Room in Brussels. The ceremony, organised by the Directorate-General for Translation in the European Commission, in honour of Europe’s talented young winners, made a special mention of Junior College that for the third consecutive year, placed first in Malta.
Congratulations to Sharon Cilia, winner in 2021; Nathan Anthony Pace, winner in 2020 and Nik Cezek, winner in 2019.
Dr Patricia Vella Briffa, Subject Co-ordinator of the Department of English, was invited to deliver a speech, ‘Teaching today, the text of tomorrow’, highlighting the relevance of language teaching in that it goes beyond the four language skills in fostering communication, creative thinking, teamwork and adaptability, important skills that equip our youth for the future.
