The Junior College (JC) hosted the JC Careers Expo 2026 organised by the Communications & Events Office and the Student Advisor. The five-day career guidance event was held from Monday 12 January to Friday 16 January 2026. The Expo went beyond traditional course information, offering students practical, first-hand insights into a wide range of study routes and career paths.
A central feature of this year’s Expo was the extensive programme of talks delivered by representatives from the University of Malta (UM) Faculties, Institutes, Centres and Schools, together with key third-party professional entities. These sessions provided students with valuable opportunities to explore the real-world application of their studies and to gain a clearer understanding of different professional pathways.
A week of exploration and discovery
Throughout the week, the JC Foyer hosted a rotating selection of stands, allowing students to engage with a variety of exhibitors across different days. These represented fields such as Medicine, Sciences, Computing, Economics, Social Wellbeing, Performing Arts, Catering, Tourism and the Police Force, encouraging students to visit the fair more than once to make the most of the experience.
Key features of the Junior College Careers Expo 2026
Practical talks: Participating bodies held dedicated sessions outlining the services they offer and how JC students can benefit from them as they transition into tertiary education and the world of work.
Diverse representation: Exhibitors reflected a broad spectrum of opportunities, ranging from core academic disciplines at the University of Malta to specialised areas including Entrepreneurship, Technology and EU Affairs.
The Expo brought together Junior College students for a week of exploration aimed at supporting informed decision-making about their next steps, whether these involve further study at the University of Malta or the pursuit of professional qualifications.
