24 students from Junior College were funded by the European Parliament to attended the Euroscola session, held in Strasbourg on 23 May 2023.
Dr Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, delivered the opening speech before inviting students from all the EU member states to exchange views on the topic "Democracy in action: get engaged!" and to ask questions to Vice-President Roberts Zile (European Conservatives and Reformists, LV) and Delphine Colard, Deputy Spokesperson from the Directorate-General for Communication of the European Parliament.
The students also had the opportunity to visit the European Court of Human Rights and meet with Maltese Judge Lorraine Schembri Orland, who gave a talk on the role and work of the Court. Judge Schembri Orland also participated in a question and answer session with the students.
The group was accompanied by Mr Roderick Vassallo and Dr Patricia Vella Briffa. This project is coordinated by JC International Office.
