The second and final youth exchange as part of JC’s year-long Erasmus+ project “Tick Tock Action o’Clock” took place in Sofia, Bulgaria in June 2023.
The mobility, hosted by 32nd School “St. Kliment Ohridski” in Sofia, involved a total of 45 students from Malta, Bulgaria and Romania.
The theme of Active Citizenship through Environmental Entrepreneurship was explored throughout the whole week. The activities that students participated in helped them build an entrepreneurial mindset and become more critical in their view of the world around them. They were challenged through hands-on workshops, from exploring their city, analysing the situation and learning how to reach out to the community through visual and practical activities. The students were also immersed in nature and cultural environments to help them appreciate the local heritage.
Youth Exchanges are a great way to get outside the school environment, since these type of projects, mainly focus on outdoor activities. Youth exchanges allow groups of young people from different countries to meet, discuss and confront various themes, whilst working on shared projects for short periods of time.
The project is coordinated by the JC International Office and co-funded through the Erasmus+ programme.
