The Faculty for Social Wellbeing has recently published the first wave of data for a national survey on 'Loneliness' led by the Dean, Prof. Andrew Azzopardi, Prof. Marilyn Clark and Ms Jamie Bonnici, Research Support Officer.
The total loneliness score indicates that over 186,000 Maltese citizens from 11 years onwards feel lonely. The Faculty through its researchers will be analysing this and more data and propose policy solutions.
The need to research this area started some six months ago after the launch of the documentary that the Faculty produced in collaboration with Caritas Malta: Il-Gerha tas-Solitudni - Mixja lejn Soluzzjoni.
