The Masters’ Programme in the Prevention & Suppression of International Crime at Sea is aimed at individuals interested in taking a closer look at maritime terrorism and transport of weapons of mass destruction, piracy, migrant smuggling and human trafficking, drug trafficking and other marine environmental crimes.
It is also ideal for those with both a sound theoretical background and the practical skills required to address international crime at sea, delves into the legal aspects of how to suppress and prevent this kind of crime.
The site of the course, which is jointly offered by the University of Malta and the University of Ferrara in Italy, will alternate on a yearly basis between Malta, commencing in October 2020, and Ferrara, commencing in October 2021.
The structure of the Programme is divided into 3 modules:
Module 1 – The Prevention and Suppression of International Crime at Sea
Module 2 – Substantive International Law dealing with Transnational and International Crimes at Sea
Module 3 – Police and Judicial cooperation in the Prevention and Suppression of International Crimes at Sea
By the end of these modules, you will be required to submit a dissertation on a relevant topic falling within the syllabus covered.
