Dr Duncan Ayers, a UM cancer researcher at the Centre for Molecular Medicine and Biobanking, has recently accepted the invitation to serve as a grant reviewer for the Tyrolean Science Fund, which is an Austrian funding programme offered by the Medical University of Innsbruck to support researchers in Tyrol, focusing mainly on supporting young scientists.
The Medical University of Innsbruck is currently placed in 251st position by the Times Higher Education global university rankings.
Dr Ayers was also previously appointed by the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO, Belgium) to act as a Grant Reviewer for awarding post-doctoral Fellowships within Belgium.
In addition, he was also bestowed the role of External Doctoral Examiner for doctoral students performing their thesis defence within Ghent University (Belgium).
Dr Ayers has a PhD in Translational Medicine from the University of Manchester, and also holds a MSc degree in Immunology and Immunogenetics from the same university. He is also an Honorary Research Associate with the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and health Sciences.
