Head of the University of Malta’s Department of Podiatry within the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Cynthia Formosa, has recently been elected as a board member on the European Council of Podiatrists (ECP).
The European Council of Podiatrists is a committee of the International Federation of Podiatrists and is responsible for promoting the interests and general awareness of the podiatry profession to the European Commission, Parliament and Council.
It also aims to promote the interests and general awareness of the podiatry profession to the European Commission, Parliament and Council, provide a forum to discuss issues and establish policies relating to proposals and EU directives that may affect education and practice of European podiatrists.
“My role on the ECP Board is to bring podiatry issues to the fore and increase awareness on the need to make core podiatry services available Europe-wide. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and am committing myself to representing the University in the best way possible”, says Prof. Formosa.
