The Faculty of Engineering marks the successful completion of the first run of the new Certificate in Engineering Sciences.
Nine students have attended this course, all of whom are now awaiting their final exam results.
The Faculty of Engineering wishes these students the best of success in all their future endeavours. It would like to thank all those involved in the preparation, delivery, exam setting and corrections of the study units and workshops of this Certificate.
Their dedication ensured that the Faculty could deliver a course of excellent quality. The Faculty also thanks all the administration staff who offered guidance and assistance during this first year.
The Faculty of Engineering launched the Certificate in Engineering Sciences last summer to provide students with an alternative entry route to the Bachelor degree courses offered by the Faculty.
During this course, students will study Mathematics and Physics required to be able to follow the Engineering degree courses with success. The course also introduces the student to computer programming and experimental procedures in Engineering.
In addition to the academic content, students will also follow practical engineering workshops in the fields of electronics, electrical power, control and robotics, mechanical, materials and manufacturing engineering. The Certificate course is, therefore, ideal for individuals who need to top-up their Maths and Physics A'levels, who want to redirect their studies to the Engineering field, or who are entering back into academic education after working in the industry.
