Dr Chris Soler, Director of Legal Services and Resident Academic within the Department of Criminal Law, Faculty of Laws, has been selected as the new State Advocate.
The selection was made by an independent board of retired judges.
As the second individual to be filling in this government role, he will be succeeding Victoria Buttigieg, who became Attorney General just last month.
Dr Soler has 20 years of experience as a lawyer and has also served as the Chairman of the Refugees Appeals Board.
The University congratulates Dr Soler on his appointment and augurs him well.
