Read how Miguel de Cervantes ended up in Malta before achieving world-wide fame for his novel Don Quixote, in the latest publication edited by Prof. Carmel Vassallo entitled ‘Cervantes in Malta’.
This publication gives details about Cervantes’s life in the armed forces in the earlier part of his life, including being posted to Malta shortly after the Great Siege of 1565 when the Order was still debating leaving the island. In addition, a number of contributions look at how Cervantes’s work has influenced literature in other languages.
This publication has been financed by the Embassy of Spain in Malta and the ADRC (Alistair David Robert Chalmers) Trust.
