Prof. Joseph Borg from the Department of Applied Medical Science within the Faculty of Health Sciences has just been appointed as an Honorary Editorial Board Member on the Springer Nature Journal - Molecular Diagnosis & Therapy.
About the journal
The journal aims to provide independent and authoritative insights into the latest molecular diagnostic and pharmacogenomic techniques and their use in personalised medicine. With a focus on linking diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers to appropriate therapy, Molecular Diagnosis & Therapy emphasises the development of companion diagnostic/therapeutic products and use of molecular biomarkers and pharmacogenomic data in drug development and therapeutic decision-making.
About Prof. Borg
Prof. Borg leads one of the youngest research groups in experimental haematology and genetics. His work and that of his peers focus on fundamental biology of haemoglobin studying its control, regulation and expression in both normal and disease conditions. Their strong links with foreign Organisations such as the Erasmus MC, Rotterdam The Netherlands and with the EMBL, Heidelberg, Germany further strengthens the position of our University in this field and leading to important contributions and developments aimed at new treatment modalities and personalised medicine.
