The Doctoral School is pleased to announce that two doctoral researchers from the Faculty of Social Wellbeing - Sharon Martinelli and Niamh (Neeve) Pisani - have set up a Virtual Café to facilitate interaction between doctoral students at the University of Malta.
They were motivated by the current COVID-19 pandemic, where social interactions have been disrupted. "We have decided to create a space where doctoral candidates can meet to mingle, discuss, create, connect and just chill out. We hope that this space can help us all to feel a little more connected in strange times", said Sharon and Niamh.
Professor Nicholas Vella, Director of the Doctoral School, welcomed this initiative: "Like many dedicated academics at the university, Sharon and Niamh have already been of service to doctoral students by taking part in the School's flagship Professional Development Programme for the last three years. Now they are going out of their way to help foster a sense of belonging amongst the community of doctoral researchers. Their efforts are commendable".
This virtual space will be open every month starting Friday 19 February 2021 from 12:00 until 14:00.
