The University of Malta’s participation in the 6th Annual EURIE – Eurasia Higher Education Summit, which was held virtually between 3 and 5 March, has provided a boost to its networking experience, with no less than 19 other universities having approached UM for a variety of potential opportunities.
These opportunities range from mutual collaborations on research, to scholarship opportunities, and student exchanges.
EURIE 2021 is a virtual expo aimed at higher education institutions to network with each other, partner up where possible and improve on their business development prospects.
The event also consisted of a conference dedicated to current issues in internationalisation and higher education management, with more than 40 panels and 120 expert speakers giving participants the unique opportunity to explore the best practices in international education. Among the topics discussed were ‘Higher Education during the Pandemic’, ‘Transformative digital modes for sustainable glocal engagement’, ‘Virtual Mobility’, and ‘Optimising Student Success through Artificial Intelligence’.
Dr Mario Cassar, Deputy Director of the Marketing, Communications & Alumni Office, said “UM’s participation as an exhibitor during this event not only expanded our knowledge in terms of how other universities are facing current challenges in the higher education sector, but it also solidified the university’s intention to generate more opportunities for its student population”.
