Prof. Timmy Gambin from the University of Malta’s Department of Classics & Archeology features in the first episode of the newly-launched podcast ‘Dive and Dig’, the latest brainchild of the Honor Frost Foundation.
He spoke to Bettany Hughes about the Phoenician Shipwreck Project, and how in the 12 minutes spent underwater (110m below surface) making remarkable discoveries, every dive, and every diver has to be planned out to the t.
The Honor Frost Foundation was founded in 2011, and named after the pioneer in underwater archaeology who led many Mediterranean investigations. Its mission is to promote the advancement and research of maritime archaeology, provide grants to scholars, disseminate research work, and support conservation work related to marine and maritime archaeology.
