The Rector Professor Alfred J Vella and Pro-Rector Tanya Sammut-Bonnici met with Professor Marchetti, Pro-Rector at LUISS University in Italy, to discuss possible collaboration on enterprise initiatives including executive education and degree programmes. The objective of the collaboration is to increase interaction among enterprise professionals and academics in the Mediterranean region, fostering excellence in higher education and increasing the supply of continuous professional development.
Pro-Rector Professor Joseph Cacciottolo, Dean Dr Emanuel Said, Director Stephania Agius Fabri, Deputy Registrar Ms Jo-Anne Attard and Dr Angele Attard Chetcuti engaged in discussions on enterprise-related education, that will contribute to the strategic plans of both UM and LUISS, whilst creating a high level of interaction among the participating institutions at the level of students, academia, and administration. The proposed project will enhance the attractiveness of business- related higher education programmes in Malta.
Pro-Rector Tanya Sammut-Bonnici said that Enterprise and Industry Impact is one of the Strategic Themes of the Strategic Plan 2020-2025, which sets out the goals and priorities for the University, its faculties, departments, centres, institutes, and schools. Collaborative learning and teaching which sources expertise from leading business schools will help the university achieve its strategic goals. Enterprise and education are the strategic foundations of the ongoing economic development. The university will endeavour to move forward with priorities concerning work-based learning, outreach and education programmes for life-long learning and economic development.
