A graduation ceremony was held at St Vincent de Paul (SVP) long term care facility to celebrate 50 students who successfully completed their studies in two units, namely 'Care of the Elderly: Theory and Practice' and 'Dementia Care Practice'.
This is the result of a collaborative agreement between the Centre for Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS), directed by Prof. David Mifsud, and SVP.
During the ceremony, held on 9 February 2022, certificates were presented to the students by the Hon. Dr Michael Farrugia, Minister for Senior Citizens and Active Ageing, Prof. Tanya Sammut Bonnici, Pro-Rector for Strategic Planning & Enterprise at UM, and Dr Josianne Cutajar, CEO at SVP.
During this academic year 2021/2022, CLAS is providing a total of 27 stand-alone units to a cohort of 404 students, a great achievement for this Centre which on Valentine's Day celebrated its eighth anniversary.
