The fourth site visit in a series of site visits organised between the Society of Architecture and Civil Engineering Students (SACES) and Senior Visiting Lecturer Perit Mark Borg from Innovative Architectural Structures (iAS), was held at Mercury Towers.
Designed by the renowned Zaha Hadid Architects, this major project in the heart of St. Julian's offered the students a range of experience in terms of innovative architectural design, cutting edge structural design, facade engineering, restoration, building services and project management. Led by Architect Annamaria Attard Montalto, the JF Portelli Projects Team gave a thorough presentation to the students followed by a site tour.
The importance of design integration and collaboration through the use of BIM360 was highlighted together with the importance and role of the architect leading the design vision.
