A number of academics and graduates from the University of Malta participated in an international conference in Rome, which was held between 18-20 May 2022 at the seat of the Accademia Nazionale di San Luca. The theme of the conference was "L'Ordine di Malta e la lingua d'Italia: Architettura e temi decorativi dalla controriforma al settecento".
Professor Emanuel Buttigieg (Department of History) and Ms Cláudia Garradas (Heritage Malta, acting as representative for Dr Daniel K. Gullo, Director of the Malta Study Centre, Hill Museum and Manuscript Library, and one of the partner institutions that supported the event) chaired the second session of the conference. The speakers here included:
