The Project Support Office at the University of Malta got together with representatives from the Malta Council for Science and Technology (MCST) for an information session at the Campus Hub, which was held on the 15 June. The event began with an introduction relating to the FUSION portfolio of programmes, highlighting the expansion of new programmes.
An in-depth overview regarding the Research Excellence Programme, Commercialisation Voucher Programme, Technology Development Programme, and the Thematic program was also presented. The presentation highlighted the differences in the programmes and their targets. Since the University of Malta is an avid beneficiary of these programmes, the session evolved into an in-depth discussion on how improvements can help both parties in implementation and a closer collaborative support.
A presentation on the Internationalisation Programmes followed. An overview of the various bilateral and multilateral collaborations and the different thematic areas was also discussed. The agenda proceeded with presentations of the array of work carried out by the Pre-Award and Post-Award teams of the Project Support Office, that leads the University’s efforts to participate in Externally-funded Projects.
The work of the Project Support Office assists the resident academics during the proposal and implementation stages, in areas relating to project administration, financial matters, and human resources. The event was a positive activity which provided the University of Malta with a chance to collaborate more closely with representatives from MCST, validating the importance of continually reinforcing the cooperative efforts between the two.
