The Marine Geology & Seafloor Surveying group within the Department of Geosciences, University of Malta, has hosted two international meetings at the Valletta Campus.
The first meeting was the International Workshop on Offshore Freshened Groundwater Research on the 27 and 28 June 2022. This workshop brought together more than 60 global experts to share the state-of-the art in terms of offshore freshened groundwater research.
The workshop was supported by MGMTOFGR (project SINOMALTA-2020-04; funded by the Malta Council for Science and Technology through the SINO-Malta Fund 2020 (Science and Technology Cooperation)) and the MARCAN project (grant agreement No 677898, funded by the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme).
The second meeting was the International Conference on Seafloor Landforms, Processes and Evolution on the 4-6 July 2022. This conference provided a platform for more than 130 scientists, students and professionals to exchanges ideas and foster collaborative interactions in the field of seafloor geomorphology.
This conference was supported by R3Vox, the Lithomar project (funded by the International Lithosphere Programme), the MARCAN project, and the International Association of Geomorphologists.
