Dr Claudine Borg from the Department of Translation, Terminology & Interpreting Studies at the University of Malta has been elected to the Executive Board of the European Society for Translation Studies (EST) for the period 2022-2025. Founded in Vienna in 1992, EST is an international network of translation and interpreting scholars with members from over 46 countries from all over the world. It functions as a forum for exchange and a centre for research resources, and it organises Translation Studies congresses every 3 years.
During the EST2022 Congress, Dr Borg also convened a panel together with Dr Brita Dorer (Gesis – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences) on the use of think-aloud in Translation Studies and presented a paper in the panel dedicated to translation revision.
The new Board, elected by EST members, was announced at the 10th EST 2022 Congress held in Oslo between 22 and 25 June 2022 at OsloMet University and the University of Oslo. Apart from serving on the board, Dr Borg will be leading the EST Newsletter editorial team for the next three years.
