Professor Conrad Thake, Department of Art and Art History, Faculty of Arts has been appointed to serve as a member of the Antoinette Forrester Downing book award committee (2022), under the auspices of the Society of Architectural Historians.
The Society of Architectural Historians was founded at Harvard University in 1940. It is a non-profit membership organization that serves a network of local, national, and international institutions and individuals who, by profession or interest, focus on the history of the built environment and its role in shaping contemporary life. Every year, the Society of Architectural Historians presents a series of awards that recognize the most distinguished publications in architectural history, urban history, landscape history, preservation, and architectural exhibition catalogues. The Antoinette Forrester Downing award honours scholarship and excellence in the form of a published work devoted to historical topics in heritage preservation.
