Open Research Europe (ORE) is a publishing platform on which research deriving from European Commission awards can be published across in all subject areas and in an open-access way. This publishing tool is funded by the European Commission which removes any fees for authors. ORE also hosts Community Gateways to bring together particular topic areas that are subject-specific hubs which highlight particularly important themes of research.
Given the increase in European Commission funded research in Astronomy, Astrophysics & Cosmology, a new Gateway has been launched to catering to these thematic research areas. The Gateway advisor is Prof. Jackson Levi Said who is a member of the Institute of Space Sciences and Astronomy at the University of Malta. This can be accessed online.
This was, in part, prompted by the recently launched CosmoVerse COST Action which aims to bring together researchers across Europe working on theoretical, data analysis and observational aspects of tensions in the standard model of cosmology in Europe. There are also other interesting projects being funded through the European Commission related to understanding the nature of dark matter, dark energy and the cosmic history of the Universe, as well as the structure and evolution of galaxies and stars.
