Around 12 Malta-based stakeholders were brought together for a focus group on sustainable tourism on Thursday 26 January 2023. The focus group followed another one held at the University of Split in Croatia, on the same topic in September. The two meetings are part of the data being collected for a research project on sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean, led by Dr Marie Louise Mangion and Dr Joe Schembri from the Faculty of Economics, Management & Accountancy.
The Malta focus group included representatives of tourism regulators as well as operators in accommodation, diving, tours, rural tourism, culinary tourism, and the chamber of commerce. Dr Ljiliana Najev Cacija from the University of Split was in Malta for the focus group.
