As part of the EC Expert Group on Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Data in Education and Training, Prof. Matthew Montebello, Head of the AI department at the Faculty of ICT, co-authored an EU publication entitled "Ethical guidelines on the use of AI and data in teaching and learning for educators" together with twenty-four other European experts.

This has been made available for all to follow especially educators and education leaders/decision makers. These ethical guidelines on AI and data usage in teaching and learning are designed to help educators understand the potential that the applications of AI and data usage can have in education and to raise awareness of the possible risks so that they are able to engage positively, critically and ethically with AI systems and exploit their full potential.
