Dr Garik Siroyan, an associate professor at Faculty of Economics and Management of Yerevan State University (YSU), visited the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy (FEMA) at the University of Malta on an Erasmus+ ICM teaching mobility.
He gave lectures on the topics of economic effects of labor migration, the role of remittances on savings and investment in the sending countries and theoretical aspects of international migration for FEMA students.
A meeting with Dr Carl Camilleri, Head of the Department of Economics was held to discuss opportunities for future cooperation to further enhance the exchange of academic and administrative staff, as well as developing joint research initiatives and partnership projects.
Dr Siroyan also held a meeting with Prof. Rose Marie Azzopardi, the Coordinator of the Platform for Migration, and discussed opportunities for joint research on migration similarities in Armenia and Malta and development of academic paper.
