The University of Malta Futsal team have managed to turn defeat into victory as they beat champions Luxol St Andrew’s 2-1 and emerged as the winners of the Laferla Futsal Trophy.
Despite being a goal down after just two minutes into the match, through Luxol captain Mark Zammit, the team managed to turn things around.
Five minutes away from the end of the match, Luxol’s goalkeeper was sent off, and the UM team managed to equalise through Luke Anthony Borg. Then just one minute before the final whistle, Cristian Jose Fernandez beat goalkeeper Ryan Marmara.
At the end of the match, the president of the Futsal Malta Association, Mark Borg, presented the trophy to the University of Malta captain, Cleavon Portelli.
