Dr Norbert Bugeja, a Research Fellow at the Mediterranean Institute, has delivered a keynote address at the 3rd Conference on the Humanities organised by the Higher Institute of Applied Languages and Computer Sciences within the University of Jendouba (Béja, Tunisia) in collaboration with the Association Actes Académiques.
During his plenary, Dr Bugeja discussed various figurations of melancholy politics and their current implications across the Mediterranean region today, including post-Bardo Tunisia itself—a topic Dr Bugeja has addressed in recent publications.
Dr Bugeja will also be delivering keynote addresses in Italy and the UK, where he plans to address the anxieties and paradoxes currently gripping Tunisia, a neighbouring country to Malta and a crucial polity in one of the European Union’s most volatile (and important) frontier regions.
