Prof. Alan Deidun from the Department of Geosciences within the Faculty of Science recently participated at the 51st European Marine Biology Symposium (EMBS) held at the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR) facilities on the island of Rhodes.
During the Symposium, Prof. Deidun delivered a presentation on the range-expansion by a number of fish species within the Mediterranean, whilst also presenting a poster on the history of sponge fishing in the central Mediterranean. The main thematics addressed during the week-long Symposium, which also enjoys the support of the Marine Biological Association (MBA) of the UK included marine bioinvasions, transitional waters, indicators and climate change.
