A group of 18 FEMA students studying their M.Sc. in Strategic Management and Marketing returned from a 4-day visit to Wroclaw University of Economics. Prof. Frank Bezzina (Dean), Prof. Vincent Cassar (Deputy Dean) and Dr Emanuel Said (Head, Department of Marketing) accompanied the students during this visit.
In Wroclaw, the students visited the 3M Innovation Center, Bosch and IBM, where key themes discussed included the management of innovation and exploiting hidden opportunities in markets through the advances in technology, the management of a diverse workforce, managing lean manufacturing processes and how leading organizations engage employees to create and tap new product and market opportunities. The students also participated in a seminar on Cross Cultural Negotiations led by Dr Darren Chong where programme participants had a hands-on experience in business negotiations in tough conditions.
The Faculty is to Prof. Sylwia Przytula and Dr Katarzyna Tracz-Krupa who coordinated the entire visit. Prof. Przytula and Dr Tracz-Krupa shall be accompanying a group of Polish students who would be visiting FEMA and the University of Malta on an exchange visit in May 2018 as part of ongoing collaboration between the two universities. These students would be pursuing studies that form part of the Post Graduate Certificate in Evidence Based Management currently underway at FEMA.
